Treatment for pediatric cancer has made tremendous progress over the past few years. Unfortunately, societal attitudes have often lagged decades behind. Many view these children as being “hopelessly sick,” and the kids suffering from these illnesses pick up on this negativity. Here at Camp Star Trails, a summer camp for children with pediatric cancer, these children can come to learn how to live, and to escape the premise that cancer is a hopeless battle. The camp provides morale-boosting extra-curricular activities, and inspires hope, to not give up the fight against cancer.
