North Carolina, also known as “The Show Boat.” She is a World War II era U.S. Navy battleship, permanently berthed in the Cape Fear River, in Wilmington, North Carolina. Today, she is a naval maritime museum, and memorial. Brenda Johnson, a resident of Houston, Texas, is considered a hero in her own right, by her local community, for taking efforts to improve the lives of those who live in the apartment complex she manages. Pritchard's Island is a barrier reef island just off the coast of Beaufort, South Carolina. The island was donated to the University of South Carolina, and serves as a nature reserve, where students and researchers can study marine ecology and oceanography. Camp Happy Trails is a summer camp where children diagnosed with pediatric cancer can go to learn how to live; participating in morale-boosting extra-curricular activities, and having hope rekindled. Skydiving is a sport which caters to adrenaline junkies everywhere, and with state of the art equipment, and proper training, pretty much anyone can participate. Roger Miller is the assistant director at the U.S.S. North Carolina Memorial, and he briefly talks with Rich about preservation of the ship, and future plans for her.
