Tamale Making

Mrs. Felisa Aranda is originally from Mexico and currently resides in Lexington County, South Carolina. She has been making tamales since she was fifteen years old as well as decorating and planning quinceañera parties. These are traditional "coming of age" parties which are held on girls' fifteenth birthday parties in parts of Latin America. These parties require much preparation and planning. For her tamales, she uses traditional ingredients, which include flour, meat, and a corn leaf. She enjoys making these delicious meals with her daughters, sisters, and friends. Mrs. Aranda has made tamales for many parties and festivals.
