Blacksmith

Mr. Anton Holstrom is originally from Elkhorn Wisconsin, though he moved to South Carolina in April of 2004. He is a blacksmith, who learned the art by watching members of his family, in particular his grandfather, uncles, and family friend Frank Jurley. He began learning in New Jersey and has been practicing blacksmithing for over 16 years. He uses the typical tools of the trade, which include a basic forge, hammer, and tongs. Two years ago he began to pass on the art to Daniel Holliday. In addition to teaching at his home, Mr. Holstrom also shares his knowledge and demonstrates to the public at both the Belton Creek Heritage Day and the Split Creek Goat Farm, visiting both every three years. He is also associated with the Belton Area Museum as well as the Split Creek Goat Farm.
