She explains that field is quite broad, and can range from marketing at the South Carolina office of Parks, Recreation and Tourism (PRT) to housing construction. Anytime an activity brings in commerce and jobs, it is within the field of economic development.
Gaddy goes on to explain how economic development helped transform the Upstate of South Carolina into the manufacturing headquarters it has become today, with corporations such as BMW and Michelin.
